Proceeds from the raffle are going towards health initiatives for long-term care residents and children who would otherwise not receive oral dental services.
Yes, this year, our raffle proceeds will be divided equally to support programs of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation and the Oral Care for Children & Adolescents Society. The SPH&HF funds will use funds for art & garden therapy programs which are integral to the well-being of residents in long-term care. ORCCA will use funds to extend dental services for orthodontic work to those of families that could not otherwise afford corrective treatment for their families.
The SPH&HF memory garden provides art and garden therapy initiatives to improve the mental well-being of long-term residents and, in turn, their loved ones. This garden and the therapeutic program definitely helps recreate positive memories.
ORCCA not only provides dental health in those in need but also improves patient self-confidence and relieves stress with their parent(s). To see a child/ adolescent smiling who otherwise was embarrassed or too shy to smile, is a huge gift.
