ROTARY SMASH BURGER EVENT IN SUPPORT OF UNITY OF EFFORT

Saturday, August 12th, dawned a beautiful, Sequim-like sunny day. All Sequim Noon Rotarians were busy scurrying around setting up a new food venue in support of Security Services Northwest and Fort Discovery’s Unity of Effort event celebrating all our first responders.

The Rotary Club’s Smash Burger food booth was busy from 11 a.m. until the end of their day at 5 p.m. Over 300 meals and beverages were served to an appreciative audience of first responders and community members attending the event. There were Fire Trucks, Aid Cars, Tanks, Helicopters, and more, all available to explore and visit with their crews. A Bouncy House, live music featuring three bands, and various vendors were fun and interesting for kids of all ages!

This new fundraiser is in lieu of the Rotary Club’s successful but labor-intensive, 50+ year run of presenting their Alder-fired Salmon Bake.

Thank you to Security Services Northwest for being our sponsor and inviting us to join the fun!

Funds raised through this event will allow the Sequim Noon Rotary Club to support the youth, as well as the general population, of our community. Most recently, the club donated an Adaptive Bike to Camp Beausite Northwest for use with their special needs children and adults.

If you’d like to know more about our Club, please visit our website at sequimrotary.org or email sequimrotary@gmail.com . We meet every Thursday at Noon at the Big Elk Restaurant in Sequim and welcome the public to join us.
