My 54-year-old daughter has been working on our family tree. Suddenly it struck me. How many lives has Rotary saved over the years that now, thanks to Rotary, have their own family tree? We have donated to eradicating polio saving hundreds of thousands of lives. We have saved lives thru clean water projects and providing health care training or services in underdeveloped countries. We have donated to peace thru scholarships shaping peace so lives are no longer lost in war-ridden areas.
I bet you could think about your own club’s work and how many lives were saved because of your club over the years.
Rotarians donating to the Foundation have helped save a child, a parent or a grandparent that made the next generation possible. That family tree now exists thanks to Rotary. Rotary today touches lives even in the future. It’s fun to see my family tree showing the past. But it’s amazing to think about the family trees living in the future thanks to the many donors who fund the work of Rotarians thru the Rotary Foundation each year.
Thank you all for your work, generosity, and continued donations to help make the world a better place.
