District Community Grant “DCG” Allocation of District Designated Funds “DDF” based on club Annual Fund per capita giving
Current Method: Each District 5020 Rotary Club may apply for one matching grant of up to US$3,500 in the first round. Up to three clubs may jointly apply and receive up to US$10,500 in the first round. All requests are granted on a first come basis if they meet the requirements. If funds remain in second rounds clubs can apply for a second grants also up to US$3,500
Rational: The funds used for the DDF match to DCG are from contributions to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund three Rotary years past. E.g. DDF matching dollars in Rotary year 20-21 are generated by contributions to The Rotary Foundation in Rotary year 18-19. Rotary Clubs making significant per capita contributions should be rewarded with increase DDF matching. This is common among a majority of the District in our Zone
Pilot Method: Beginning in the Rotary year 22-23 using the results of 21-22. Club per capita giving to the annual fund would be divided into three tiers, high, average, low. Clubs contributing less than US$100 would be in the low tier. Those between US$100 to $US$199 are the average tier and clubs contributing US$200 of more in the high tier.
The amount of matching grant would vary by tier:
- Low, under US$100/capita — US$2,000
- Average, between US$100/capita and US$199/capita — US$3,500
- High, over US$199/capita — US$5,000
- Multi-club grants would be limited to US$10,500
Analysis: Using year to-date per capita giving. The number of Clubs in each tier would be:
- Low 45. Average 30, High 15 resulting in the average grant size of US$2,973
Its anticipated with the grant incentive per capita contribution would increase
Recommendation: The new method will begin beginning with the 22-23 Rotary year and be evaluated after three year
