Rotary Club of Sequim Sunrise has completed the installation of clean water borehole/well in the village of NGEBA in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central Africa. This project was designed to give the community members of NGEBA adequate access to safe and clean drinking water.
Before the project, the community had very limited access to clean drinking water, but today and through the support of Sequim Sunrise Rotary, the village now has a reliable source of clean drinking water, and the ability to service the entire community of NGEBA.
This water well was constructed using a manual pump to draw water from approximately 150 feet beneath the ground, making it dependable all year around. The well is centrally located for the convenience of the local people providing maximum accessibility for everyone in the community.
