We have resumed in person meetings and it has been wonderful to reconnect with our fellow Rotarians face to face. Bellarmine Preparatory School has been gracious to host 70-80 of us every week for the past month. We are grateful for the time to be together again. At our first meeting we labelled books for the Little Free Libraries we support.
Starting September 2nd we will be meeting at La Quinta Inn in Tacoma – Thursday’s at noon….stop by for a visit!
In addition to meetings we have also resumed Thursday’s at 5. This is our afterhours way to connect in a smaller groups and highlight some of the businesses that Rotary 8 members are part of. This last Thursday Jacob Christensen from Norway, our Exchange Student from 2018-2019 was able to join us.
Community service also continues to be a gateway to connection and deepened friendships. Many 8’s have continued to serve the most vulnerable in our community throughout the pandemic. We are supporting EFN doing repacks, working in the Raingardens and at Mother Earth Farms and sorting items at St. Vincent DePaul. We finished our yearlong project of packing lunches for the Tacoma Rescue Mission with over 2500 sandwiches provided.
