Shekhar Mehta, Rotary International President, 2021-22, is asking all Rotarians to “Serve to Change Lives”. He is encouraging all of us to dream big and make a difference and to do this he believes we must increase Rotary membership. It is his dream that we increase Rotary membership to 1.3 million by July 1, 2022, and I think we can do this. His call to action is simple: Each One, Bring One. He wants every Rotarian to sponsor a new member.
District 5020 wants every Rotarian to sponsor a new member too. Therefore, each time you sponsor a new member between July 1, 2021, and April 15, 2022, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a trip to the Rotary International Convention that will take place June 4 – 8, 2022, in Houston, Texas. The winner of this drawing will receive a convention registration, hotel accommodations and roundtrip airfare for one – a value of approximately $2,200.
Rotary membership hovers around 1.2 million. Every year we recruit about as many members as we lose. It is now time to change this equation and get out there and recruit. As a Rotarian, we understand the meaning of Service Above Self and we know that being a Rotarian makes a difference in the lives of others. Make membership a priority this year and be that person who changes someone’s life.
