Disasters don’t stop for the holidays, and neither will we. From the recent distributions of emergency ShelterBox’s in Haiti to our response in Honduras, Rotarians have been relentless in the pursuit of providing lifesaving shelter this year through fundraising and on-the-ground support!
Hurricane Iota and Eta ushered in the new 2021 year and brought a wave of destruction across Central America. The Rotary Club of San Pedro Sula’s local knowledge, connections, and networks, were vital throughout ShelterBox’s response. Rotarians did amazing behind-the-scenes work throughout the response, including coordinating the arrival and unloading of eleven 40-foot containers, arranging the tax exemption, and providing and managing a warehouse for safe and secure storage. Without Rotary, we would have struggled to get our shelter support into Honduras.
The work of ShelterBox has been made possible because of charitable support from Rotary Clubs and Rotarians like you. An amazing $450,000 has been raised this year by Canadian Rotary Clubs & Rotarians alike. As we prepare to enter 2022, our team at ShelterBox wanted to express our deepest thanks to all Rotarians who have put our official project partnership in disaster relief into action!
The New Year will bring a new set of challenges with the climate crisis on the rise but together we can make a real difference to families in need after a disaster. Your support of ShelterBox Canada means more families have shelter, water, and the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Find out more here: https://www.shelterboxcanada.org/2million/
